The Guide Life Story
I am Travis McClendon and in my 28 years of guiding in Arizona, outfitter fees have only gotten more expensive, leaving most of us on the outside looking in. Well I’m here to change all of that! Our members don’t pay for the outfitted hunts, I do! Guiding isn’t always easy, and the harvest is never guaranteed but I am here to give the hunt back to the hunter!
My Story:
My name is Travis McClendon and I have been hunting in the west since I was 10 years old. My dad, John McClendon started a very successful outfitting company called McClendon’s & Sons Guide service in the early 1980s and was a pioneer in the outdoor film industry at a time when very few were filming hunts. I went to work for my dad when I turned 18, over 28 years ago and my passion for hunting and the outdoors has remained high ever since. In recent years I have watched as Outfitter and Guide fees have become more and more expensive, making hunting a rich man sport. So, I created a solution to change that and make hunting with a guide available to anyone who wants to maximize their hunt of a lifetime with the help of a real professional. That solution is called the Zero Guide Fees program. This program uses the power of a large membership base to make it possible for those who desire to use an outfitter the means to do so. Our members pay a small yearly membership fee and in return, we pay for their fully outfitted hunts when they draw.
The Background:
Travis McClendon is the founding owner of Zero Guide Fees LLC and the owner of Arizona Elk Outfitters LLC and Arizona Strip Guides LLC. Travis was born and raised in the depths of the professional trophy hunting and outdoor video industries. An Arizona native and full-time professional outfitter and videographer, Travis & his companies have produced many world-class trophies for their clients over the years. His tireless work ethic and obsession with trophy elk and mule deer make him one of the most sought after and successful trophy elk and mule deer guides in the west. Travis is one of the most experienced elk and mule deer guides in the state of Arizona and brings a lifetime of trophy elk and mule deer hunting experience to the Arizona Strip Guides team. Both Arizona Elk Outfitters and Arizona Strip Guides are proud to have Travis McClendon as part of our dedicated team of trophy elk and mule deer hunting professionals.

In the last 5 years, Zero Guide Fees has paid out over $1,000,000 worth of guide fees for their member's hunts.
